The Recreational Vessel Courtesy Check

What is it?

The Recreational Vessel Courtesy Check is a free service by Gabriola members of the Canadian Power Squadron to assist boaters in ensuring their boats meet the safety requirements of Transport Canada. Don't get fined for deficiencies, the fines are cumulative and add up. It could ruin your whole day!

Here's the deal:

This sticker won't guarantee that enforcement officers won't ask to see your safety equipment, but as long as you don't take anything off the boat that was there when it was checked - you should be confident that you are in compliance and won't get a fine for safety equipment violations.

Arrange your free boat check:

If you would like us to visit your boat, contact Bob Wood (250-247-7339). Tell us what time you prefer and the location of your boat. We'll do our best to accommodate you. It takes about 30 minutes. Dates - Friday May 19 0930-1100 at Pages & Silva Bay, they Degnen Bay until noon, Saturday, May 20 0930 - noon at Pages & Silva Bay, then Degnen Bay.
