Why Take Our Boating Courses?

Boating is what we do. Canadian Power Squadrons exists to share with the boating public and those interested in boating, (even if they do not have a boat), the knowledge and experiences that will make leisure water activities the best they can be. Go to the Courses page to see what we have to offer.

Boating Class: Winter 2012

Winter Social, February 11, 2012

Ralph Hagen presenting the story of the importance of the Union Steamship Company of British Columbia to life on the coast.

Finally, Our Official Squadron Pennant!

It is now official. We have our Squadron pennant. Commander Cec presents pennant #1 to Don Butt, the pennant designer, at the Bridge meeting on April 4, 2012.

Originally it was designed to graphically represent two elements - our connection with CPS-ECP, and the Entrance Island light, so close to Gabriola Island. The blue stripes relate to those in the CPS-ECP flag, and the light in the lighthouse is the maple leaf in the CPS-ECP flag. The light's rays spreading out over the water are meant to represent the source of knowledge in boating skills instructed in our courses. The pennant was designed to appear identical when viewed from either side.
